Whereas an skilled hacking group claims to have infiltrated Rockstar Video games’ cloud servers, the sport writer admits there was a “third-party knowledge breach.” ShinyHunters, the hacker group believed to be behind knowledge breaches focusing on Microsoft, Google, Ticketmaster, and others, posted a message on its web site warning Rockstar to “pay up or it is going to be leaked.” This hack was first found by Hackread and Cybersec Guru.

ShinyHunters didn’t present particulars about what Rockstar knowledge it had accessed, solely including that if it doesn’t hear again from them by April 14, the group will likely be prone to leaking info that might trigger “some troubling (digital) points.” Rockstar Video games confirmed the breach to Kotaku, explaining that “a restricted quantity of non-critical company info was accessed in reference to a third-party knowledge breach” and that the incident “didn’t affect our group or gamers.”

Beforehand, Rockstar needed to cope with a serious hack that led to a leak in 2022 that included a considerable amount of gameplay footage and belongings for Grand Theft Auto VI. After the hack, one of many 18-year-old members of the Lapsus$ group concerned within the breach was sentenced to “indefinite hospitalization.”
